Knitting By Design | Book Review

This book is definitely for the beginner modern knitter and I completely love it. Knitting by Design by Emma Robertson, includes 15 knitting projects from novice to super advanced level knitter. This book is filled with vibrant colored photos and hipster-ques styling (yep, I said hipster). It was published in 2011, just stating the facts!

The first project in progress is the Twisted Turban using a grey worsted yarn. Her simple use of stitch patterns (knit and purl) to create these designs.

For the past couple of weeks (or rather months), I've had the worst "creators" block. I've decided to share some of my recent inspiration. The feeling of gray and being stuck in a never ending loop. 

Moving out to PA a few months ago, I'm really trying to find the beauty and mystic of my surroundings. I'm located in the middle of a valley, my view is of barren mountain tops, cascading naked trees and snow covered rocks. I'm hoping spring-like weather will come around soon. Come on sun, I know you're out there! In the meantime, I will gaze at my screensaver of a random beaches.

Winter Knits: Chunky Knit Sweaters

This frozen winter had me craving the texture of large chunky knit sweaters. I've found many design inspiration browsing through past designers collections on style.com, Pinterest, and Raverly but have yet to venture out of world of knitting squares and rectangles.
